Cultural Box

Today we had our first cultural box presentations.

Lucy, Ira and Sibgha presented and explained 5 items of cultural significance to them. 

Fabulous job girls. I know I learned some interesting things as did the rest of the class.

The children are learning to be good speakers and listeners. 

Not only do the speakers need to show...

• good volume
• good eye contact with the audience
• speak clearly at an appropriate pace (not too fast ad not too slow)
• speak about interesting things

... but the audience also needs to show good listening skills by

• looking at the speaker
• showing 5 (ask your child what this means)
• and asking relevant questions and giving suitable comments.

Wow - we are learning so much during our oral language tasks.

I can't wait to see and hear more cultural box presentations.
