Cultural Boxes

Wow! I just continue to be impressed with the wonderful items and explanations of these items that children have been showing in their Cultural Boxes.
Apologies to Summer - so many things happening we haven't heard yours yet. Let's aim for tomorrow.

Isobel is a New Zealander.

Molly is a New Zealander

Jessica is a New Zealander.

Epeli is from Samoa and Fiji. He could even tell use the name of his items
in both Fijian and Samoan.

Unathi is from Zimbabwe

Nader is from Nigeria

Anav is from Fiji

Jamie is a New Zealander

Well done everyone. We have learned so much about each other and our cultures. So interesting.

Cultural Box Reflections

These are the comments from the children about how they felt about preparing and presenting their cultural boxes.

  • we felt proud of our culture
  • we liked sharing about our special things
  • we were very nervous but felt proud when we finished
  • we were excited
  • it felt scary to stand up and speak in front of the class
  • we were happy
  • we felt shy
  • we felt happy and nervous at the same time

  1. It was awesome looking at all the pictures of the things that were special to you for your cultural boxes. Such a lovely way to find out so much about each other. It was great to read your reflections too. Well done Room 9!
