Weather experiments
We have completed
- cloud in a jar
- rain in a jar
- how clouds are made
- tornado in a jar.
It has been fun observing using our 5 senses during our experiments.
Now we are also concentrating on asking questions.
When we blow in our hands it feels warm and moist. |
When we breathed on the cold spoons the water vapour in our breath
condensed on the spoon. |
It hoofed up just like a mirror in the bathroom. |
We made different types of clouds in shaving foam on the tables. |
So messy... but so much fun! |
Then we wrote words in the foam, such as rain, wet... |
We went outside last week when it was so, so windy.
It was blustery! Our flag was flapping. |
We looked this way and the sky was blue and clear. |
We looked this way and we had cumulus clouds. |
We looked this way and saw cirrus clouds. |
This cloud looked just like a horse...or dragon... |
The wind was strong and cold. We had to huddle together. |
Our ears were cold. |
Our fingers were numb and pink. |
Our hair was blowing all over the place. |
Brrr cold noses! |
Not long after this photo the weather really changed. There was hail in
these clouds. |
The wind tried to blow us all away.. Thank goodness we didn't
get blown over. |
We felt like twisting, twirling, spinning leaves being blown about. |

Thank you to our photographer Jessica.
Wow what wonderful photos Jessica! It looks like you will all be great meteorologists and be able to tell the weather every day!
