Other Oral language Science Experiments

We have been enjoying a range of science experiments as part of the Room 9 Term 3 Oral language Programme.

Faiqah attempted the mentos and coke experiment. Unfortunately this time it didn't work but as a true scientist
Faiqah didn't give up. She tried it a few different ways. We were able to still use our observation and questioning skills.

Maryam gave us the opportunity to observe what happened
when a lit tea light candle was covered with a glass.

She explained that as the candle used up the oxygen in the glass
it went out because just like us fire needs oxygen to survive.

Jessica was very well organised.

First she put some coloured dishwashing liquid into
the jar.

Next she added vinegar.

After the vinegar she added a baking soda mixture.

Guess what happened?

The volcano certainly erupted straight away.

We smelt vinegar, heard fizzing, saw bubbles.
Thanks Jessica.
