Visit to Riccarton Bush

Last Tuesday was a fabulous day for walking to Riccarton Bush. I was so proud of the children as they walked, without complaint. Unfortunately we didn't manage to spot any native birds but we did hear some piwakwaka and learnt a lot about the trees in the bush.
Check out our photos.

All ready to leave school.

Morning tea picnic

Meeting our guide.

Our new class mates.

About to enter the predator fenced area.

We used a special book to identify and match the leaves we found on the
ground as we walked.

These are photos of our special leaves that we were unable to remove from Riccarton Bush.
This is a skeleton of a leaf.

A HUGE thank you to Rie, Carly and Val for their assistance on our walk. We so appreciate it!
