Cultural Day

What a fabulous day we have had today.
The children looked amazing in their cultural dress.
They showed pride and connection with their cultures and those of others.

This afternoon we experienced making our own Rangoli patterns.
Rangoli is the name of the patterns created as part of Diwali (Indian Festival of Light). They are usually created outside the front door to welcome visitors.
Our Rangoli today was made from a mixture of salt and powdered paint. We spooned it on top of glue  on the patterns we had drawn on out plates. We tried to contrast our colours and mirror the patterns.

The children were so quiet as they concentrated on their creations.
Great job Room 9.

Congratulations to Krisdaporn, Jupi and Florain who performed in the Cultural Concert today.
